Deputy Secretary‑General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political‑Security Community, Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz welcomed Their Majesties Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan to the ASEAN Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 Osaka on 6 October 2025.

During the visit, Deputy Secretary‑General Dato' Astanah presented ASEAN’s key initiatives across its three Community pillars and underscored the Pavilion’s role in showcasing the region’s rich cultural diversity, innovations, and shared aspirations.

The visit reflects the deep-rooted friendship between ASEAN and Japan and reaffirms ASEAN’s active role in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation through global platforms such as the World Expo.

The ASEAN Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 Osaka is supported through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
