The Government of Japan has been a long-standing partner of the ASEAN in bringing peace, prosperity, and environmental sustainability in the Region.

The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity and the Government of Japan, through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), have been working together on a number of projects and activities related to protected areas, taxonomy, wetland conservation, biodiversity information management, and awareness raising on biodiversity.
