The global medical device landscape is characterised by rapidly evolving technologies and there is a need to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of the emerging technologies, while at the same time fully leverage its benefits through training and knowledge sharing. These initiatives will not only enhance regulatory practices but also support the operations of medical device companies throughout ASEAN.The project is a collaborative program organized by the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) of Japan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (MoH), and the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Indonesia (UI).

This project strengthens the ability of countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to combat cybercrime and work together as a region and fosters regional strategic discussion, identifies trends, and provides a foundation for improved information exchange. Comprising all 10 ASEAN member countries, the project was funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) with the Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs as the project proponent and INTERPOL as the Implementing Agency.

Association of Southeast Asian Nations Joint Operations Against Cybercrime

In July 2018 INTERPOL established the ASEAN Cyber Capability Desk, with support from the Singapore Government and the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) to address the growing cyberthreats in the region. In 2020, it was renamed as the ASEAN Cybercrime Operations Desk to better reflect its functions and operational relevance to the ASEAN countries.

The series of ASEAN Now and the Future - Connectivity and Economic Corridors, look back over the history of cooperation for peace, stability, growth and prosperity between Japan and ASEAN. It explains how the broadcasting stations of the four participating countries in this program production assistance project - Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar - tackled the program production work. How did the production staff of each state broadcaster endeavor to depict the present situation and future of ASEAN? This program reviews the aims and production processes of each program in the series.
