Consultation Meeting between Japan and Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN at the ASEAN Secretariat

Today, the ASEAN Economic Community Deputy Secretary-General Singh and Ambassador Kiya and JICA, JETRO, ERIA, and attachés from Japanese government ministries and agencies, as well as JMT, had a consultation at the ASEAN Secretariat to candidly exchange views on a new vision and areas for future collaboration.

During the meeting, ASEAN and Japan actively discussed concrete ideas and how to cooperate in each priority area – such as digital, connectivity, agriculture, circular economy – in line with the AOIP in preparation for the Special Summit Meeting scheduled in December 2023 commemorating the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.
