High-Level Cultural Forum
The call for greater understanding and tolerance is not something new in ASEAN, but yet, it continues to contribute to the building of a strong foundation of shared responsibility and solidarity, a caring and sharing community. This is in line with the ASEAN 2021 Theme: “We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper”.
Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Youth, Culture and Sports was speaking during the video conference of ASEAN High-Level Cultural Forum on Promoting an ASEAN Adaptive Community of Greater Understanding, Tolerance and A Sense of Regional Agendas Among the People of ASEAN.
It was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. According to Yang Berhormat, the forum will be part of the collective inputs towards the development of the Regional Policy Framework on Fostering Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas among the Peoples of ASEAN, to be adopted at the 38th ASEAN Summit. Yang Berhormat also shared a few ideas, among them the need to be strategic in the key messages from the Regional Policy Framework.
The Forum aimed to expand the views and roles of the culture of peace, tolerance and greater understanding approaches of the Sectoral Bodies and its stakeholders.
The Fostering Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas among the Peoples of ASEAN is supported by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
