Ambassador KIYA’s Participation to the Opening Ceremony of the Attachment Programme for Junior Officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam, 2022-2023
On 2 February, H.E. Mr. KIYA Masahiko, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, attended the Opening Ceremony of the Attachment Programme 2022-2023 for Junior Officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam (CLMV) at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, celebrating 12 Attachment Officers upon their commencement of the Programme. Attendees at the ceremony included H.E. Mr. Ekkaphab Phanthavong, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, as well as Permanent Representatives of CLMV countries.
The Attachment Programme dispatches young government officials from CLMV countries to the ASEAN Secretariat for one year, with a view to enhancing administrative capacities of the participants, as well as narrowing the gap between CLMV countries and other six ASEAN countries. The programme has fostered a number of promising officials in CLMV countries for the past years. The Government of Japan supports the programme through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
