From February 4 to February 12, 20 people from the four Mekong countries (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam), including civil servants engaged in natural resources and the environment, will visit Japan.

The group will visit Tokyo, Kanagawa and Toyama prefectures as a program with the theme of “Environmental Technology Exchange in the Four Mekong Countries”. In addition to participating in lectures related to environmental technology, they plan to deepen understanding of Japan through exchanges in environmental technology, such as visiting theme-related facilities and universities. In addition, through homestays and tours of each region, they will directly experience Japanese culture and experience the charm of Japan.

Through this program, it is expected that young people who will be the future leaders of the four Mekong countries will deepen their knowledge based on the theme, deepen their understanding and interest in Japanese culture, etc.

The JENESYS2019 is an exchange programme for the youths of Japan and ASEAN supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
