The 19th ASEAN Water Resources Management Working Group (AWGWRM) Meeting

The National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) together with the Ministry of Public Works and National Housing of the Republic of Indonesia proposed “Policy Dialogue and Network Building of Multi-stakeholders on Integrated Decentralized Domestic Wastewater Management in ASEAN Countries” (hereinafter referred to as the “JAIF-PoDIWM project”), which has been implemented since July last year with contributions from the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) for the conservation of water environment in Southeast Asian countries.

In the 19th ASEAN Working Group on Water Resources Management (AWGWRM) meeting held in Panglao Island, Philippines from 28 to 29 May 2019, NIES and the representatives from 10 ASEAN member countries and international organizations exchanged opinions for solving water environment resources in the ASEAN region, and gave the interim report on the actual situation of domestic wastewater in each ASEAN country under the JAIF-PoDIWM project.
