JMT Receives Courtesy Visit from JAXA to JMT Office
JAKARTA, 30 April 2026 – JAIF Management Team (JMT) and Science and Technology Division of the ASEAN Secretariat welcomed Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to coordinate the Improvement of Paddy Rice Area Statistics and Damage Assessment using Earth Observation Satellites for ASEAN, focusing on leveraging advanced satellite technology, such as ALOS-4, to enhance regional food security and climate resilience.
With an ASEAN Leader's Declaration on Space Cooperation expected to be adopted at the ASEAN Summit in the Philippines in November 2026, this partnership continues to drive innovation in sustainable agriculture for ASEAN-Japan cooperation efforts.
