The ASEAN Centre for Active Ageing and Innovation (ACAI) expert meeting was organised, with a primary focus on health and well-being in the Regional Action Plan (RAP) on Active Ageing for ASEAN. This meeting is supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Over forty ACAI-affiliated experts and country coordinators in the health sector, together with representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other regional health stakeholders, participated in this four-day workshop to co-create the ASEAN standards for caregiver training and long-term care (LTC), and to strategically explore the application of the Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) into the ASEAN context. The event features a blend of technical briefings, site visits, and interactive workshops.

By the end of the workshop, experts will have synthesised their collective insights into a 2–3 year roadmap for health and well-being, ensuring that the promise of active ageing becomes a tangible reality for every citizen in the region.
