As part of the effort to help foster greater understanding in the region, the ASEAN Secretariat and the Senior Officials’ Committee for ASCC Council (SOCA) Brunei Darussalam convened the ASEAN High-Level Cultural Forum (HLCF) to discuss various ways of promoting regional understanding, tolerance and solidarity.

Youth engagement, biodiversity conservation, community building, and digital adoption were some of the key recommendations generated to help sustainably nurture a culture of peace, tolerance, and greater understanding.

The HLCF was part of the Fostering Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas among the Peoples of ASEAN project, supported by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
