Highlight of JENESYS2025 Activities Reported in February 2026

JENESYS2025 aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the peoples of Japan, ASEAN Member States, and Timor-Leste, to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation, as well as to encourage an understanding of various aspects of Japan. The project is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). This is the highlight of JENESYS2025 reported by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) in February 2026:

Cambodia-Japan Japanese Language and Cultural Exchange

The delegation paid courtesy visits to the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS Cambodia). They also learned about the history and future of Japan–Cambodia partnership through a special lecture at the JICA Cambodia Office.

Calling JENESYS ASEAN Alumni Living in Japan for a Meet

JENESYS Japan-ASEAN Online Alumni Meeting

All JENESYS ASEAN and Japan Alumni will be having a meeting on 6 March 2026. The programme highlights are as follows:

  2. Cultural Experience
  3. Interactive Networking session

Japan and Indonesia Exchange Programme on Anime and Manga

The Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) will be holding an online exchange program for Japan-Indonesia "Anime and Manga" as part of the "JENESYS" program promoted by the Japanese Government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) promoted by Japan (Ministry for Foreign Affairs). The event will be held on 25, 26, and 30 March 2026 and will be held online.

JENESYS ASEAN Online Alumni Meeting on Japan’s Employment Landscape for Global Talent

This online event is designed for JENESYS ASEAN alumni who are interested in learning more about working and building a career in Japan.

Through expert lectures by JICE staff and interactive sessions, you will gain practical knowledge about Japan’s labor market and employment environment for foreign professionals. The event will share knowledge on recent trends in Japan’s labor market, systems and procedures supporting foreign employment, and workplace culture in Japan.

ASEAN-Japan Students Conference

JICE welcomed 83 university students from ASEAN countries and Japan to the Students Conference. The themes were Climate Change and Disaster Prevention, Education and Digital Technology, and Startups and International Collaboration. Participants from ASEAN countries visited Hiroshima, Mie, and Tochigi according to their themes, where they experienced Japanese culture and warm homestays that made many feel they had found a “second home.”
