The Senior Executive Programme in Disaster Management (SEPDM) 2025 Intensive Learning and Leadership

The Senior Executive Programme in Disaster Management (SEPDM) 2025 successfully brought together senior disaster management officials from ASEAN Member States and partners for an intensive learning and leadership experience. Co-organised by the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the AHA Centre, and the ASEAN Secretariat, this year’s programme was delivered in a hybrid format, with online sessions held on 3–14 November 2025, followed by onsite sessions in Singapore on 17–21 November 2025.
This year’s SEPDM centred around three core pillars on Disaster and Crisis Leadership, highlighting the critical role of leaders across all phases of disasters, particularly in coordinating responses and making decisions under pressure; Research, Technology and Innovation, exploring how emerging tools and social innovations enhance disaster preparedness and response; and Current and Future Trends in Disaster Management, examining global shifts that continue to shape and influence disaster and crisis management.
A special appreciation goes to the European Union in ASEAN and the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) for their continued support in strengthening regional disaster management capacities. Our gratitude also extends to the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL), Deakin University, for serving as the programme’s Knowledge Partner.
