ASEAN-ERAT Members Conduct Preparedness Mission in Timor-Leste

From 13 to 17 July 2026, six members of the ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the AHA Centre are conducting a Preparedness Mission in Timor-Leste to support the efforts in enhancing the country’s disaster management and emergency response capabilities.

Led by Deputy Executive Director of the AHA Centre, Krishna Putra Tanaja, the mission commenced with a courtesy call to the President of the Civil Protection Authority (CPA - Autoridade Proteção Civil Timor-Leste), followed by engagements with key government agencies and humanitarian partners, including the National Ambulance and Medical Emergency Service (SNAEM, I.P) of the Ministry of Health, National and Maritime Police, airport and port authorities, Cruz Vermelha de Timor-Leste, World Food Programme, and Timor-Leste Defence Force.

The Strengthening the Capacity of the ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) Phase IV project is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
