Workshop on the Lessons Learned from Humanitarian Operations in Türkiye and Syria
After a devastating earthquake struck Türkiye and Syria in February 2023, several ASEAN Member States joined the international community in providing humanitarian aid and relief to affected communities.
Supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) organised a Workshop on the Lessons Learned from Humanitarian Operations in Türkiye and Syria on 18-19 September 2023 to facilitate learning from the experiences of representatives from six ASEAN Member States, Japan, and relevant ASEAN Dialogue Partners who helped with the relief efforts.
It is hoped that this knowledge-sharing session can provide valuable lessons for ASEAN Member States to gain a stronger understanding of the potential roles that ASEAN as a collective can play in responding beyond the region.
