Ambassador Chiba’s Participation in the Commemoration of ASEAN Day for Disaster Management
On 14 October 2021, H.E. CHIBA Akira, Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, attended the commemoration of ASEAN DAY for Disaster Management. The ceremony was attended by the Chair of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management, H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi Secretary General of ASEAN, as well as international organisation Senior Officials and ASEAN Senior Officials on Disaster Management.
Ambassador CHIBA celebrated the launch of ASEAN Mapping Exercise and The Web-Based Monitoring and Evaluation System for the AADMER Work Programme 2021-2025. He welcomed the 1st ASEAN Ministerial Meeting + Japan held on the same day and highlighted that Japan and ASEAN will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their friendship and cooperation in 2023 and that relationship between Japan and ASEAN will be even closer through promoting cooperation with ASEAN in a wide range of fields including disaster management.
ASEAN Mapping Exerciseto Promote Synergy with Other Relevant ASEAN Sectoral Bodies and Entities Associated with ASEAN on Disaster Management and The Web-Based Monitoring and Evaluation System for the AADMER Work Programme 2021-2025 are launched in commemoration of the 1st ASEAN Disaster Management Ministerial Meeting Plus Japan. These projects are supported by the Japan-ASEAN Integrated Fund (JAIF).
