Cambodia to have cultural heritage listed in ASEAN digital archives
30 April 2021 -

Ministry of Culture secretary of state Pen Monimakara, presided over a zoom video conference this week, along with representatives from Myanmar, the Mission of Japan to ASEAN, the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) Management Team, system integration company NTT Data and the ASEAN Secretariat. The virtual meeting focused on the upcoming digitalisation of cultural heritage and having details displayed on ASEAN Cultural Heritage Digital Archive (ACHDA) website.

According to the website, ACHDA was established in 2018 and aims to celebrate the rich and diverse culture in all ASEAN countries. ACHDA is supported by the ASEAN Senior Officials for Culture and Arts (SOMCA) and the Government of Japan through JAIF.

Details of Cambodian cultural heritage are to be included on the ACHDA website, to share knowledge of Cambodian culture and arts among ASEAN countries. Currently, ACHDA has showcased items from three countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. ACHDA hopes to add cultural digitalisation to their website in collaboration with other ASEAN countries.
