JMT Provides a Briefing to the Stakeholders of the New Project ASEAN-Japan Special Youth Forum for Promoting the Rule of Law

JAKARTA, 15 May 2023 – The JAIF Management Team (JMT) had an opportunity to provide a project inception briefing to the stakeholders of the new project, ASEAN-Japan Special Youth Forum for Promoting the Rule of Law.

The briefing was conducted at the onset of the project implementation to help the stakeholders understand the essential rules and procedures of JAIF for efficient and effective project implementation, such as monitoring and reporting, fund management and visibility.

It was attended by representatives from the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) and the Asia Crime Prevention Foundation (ACPF). The TIJ and the ACPF serve as the proponent and the implementing agency of the project, respectively. The Treaty Division of the ASEAN Secretariat also participated in the briefing.

The ASEAN-Japan Special Youth Forum for Promoting the Rule of Law is expected to be attended by 60 youth participants aged between 18 and 25 years old from ASEAN and Japan. It aims to strengthen and promote the “rule of law” and “rule-based frameworks” by enhancing the understanding and knowledge of the young generation on the rule of law, particularly in the context of digital and technological advancement.
