Results of the 15th ASEAN+3 Environment Ministerial Meeting
On 13 September 2017, the 15th ASEAN+3 (Japan, China, Korea) Ministerial Meeting on Environment was held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, attended by the delegation from the Ministry of Environment of Japan headed by Vice Minister Tadahiko Ito.
At the meeting, Vice Minister Ito made the following remarks: “As part of ‘Japan-ASEAN Environment Cooperation Initiative,’ we will expand and establish initiatives such as ‘ASEAN SDGs Frontrunner Cities Programme – Upgrading the ASEAN ESC Model Cities Programme’ through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) in cooperation with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to promote cooperation toward establishing a recyclable society within the ASEAN region by initiating research in the fields of circular economy, waste and recycling, etc.”
