JMT Participates in the First In-person Workshop of the ASEAN Academy on Responsible Investing

NUSA DUA, 15 March 2023 – The First In-person Workshop of the ASEAN Academy on Responsible Investing was convened in Bali, Indonesia on 15 – 17 March 2023.

The workshop is one of the activities of the JAIF-funded project Creation and Testing of Learning and Accreditation Programme to Implement ASEAN-RAI Guidelines, implemented by Grow Asia in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat.

The Academy, a learning and accreditation programme, aims at creating change agents who will promote increased responsible investing in food, agriculture, and forestry sectors across ASEAN. This pilot program runs for four months from February to May 2023 and includes e-learning modules, two in-person workshops, ‘change project’ creation, and optional coaching sessions.

The first of the two in-person workshops was attended by a range of learners, from large multinational corporations to national government and civil society organisations. Welcoming the 50 participants, Ms. Erin Sweeney, Director, Programs of Grow Asia, encouraged them to make the best use of the in-person workshop by learning from expert trainers and each other. In her opening remarks, JMT Programme Coordinator Miyuki Ishikawa highlighted that the development of the Academy underscores Japan’s commitment to further promoting resilient and sustainable agriculture and food systems, by putting into practice the ASEAN Guidelines on Promoting Responsible Investment in Food, Agriculture and Forestry.
