The Women’s Sports Research Center Supports the “Japan-ASEAN Workshop for Promoting Gender Equality in Sports” as the Executing Agency
15 July 2021 -

In 2017, the Japanese government and ASEAN held the 1st “Japan-ASEAN Sports Ministers’ Meeting (AMMS + Japan)” to strengthen resilience and ASEAN by promoting healthy and prosperous lifestyles and people-to-people connections through sports. We aim to build promises between the region and the people of Japan. For this cooperation at the government level, the Juntendo University Women’s Sports Research Center (Director: Etsuko Ogasawara) is an action to promote gender equality in sports and strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and Japan. We are pleased to inform you that the workshop will be held with the following outline as the executing agency of “Workshop on Promoting Gender Equality in Sports”. Furthermore, on the second day, an open symposium will be held as a program that can be attended by the general public. In addition, two students from our university are scheduled to participate as representatives of Japan for “young female sports leaders” from ASEAN countries.

This project is supported by the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). JAIF was established in March 2006 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the purpose of supporting the efforts of ASEAN countries to promote ASEAN integration, reducing regional disparities, and supporting activities to promote cooperation between Japan and ASEAN.
